WELCOME TO PONCE
Ponce Plaza Hotel & Casino is located at the historic district of the city of Ponce; Puerto Rico’s second largest city. It is right across from the “Plaza Las Delicias” where you will find many of Ponce’s most emblematic buildings; the beautiful Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, charming firehouse dating the 1800’s, many monuments, museums and shops. You will enjoy a mix of architectural styles and discover the history of downtown PONCE, also known as the “Pearl of the South.”
Ponce Plaza Hotel & Casino has its own history. The building encompasses a unique and diverse concept that intertwines modern style with historical architecture. The historic building also known as “Casa Saurí” dates from 1882 and is regulated by the Puerto Rico Institute of Culture. It was originally built by owner Mr. Francisco Roubert. He directed a group of African slaves in the construction of this invaluable architectural masterpiece, which becomes his family residence for many years. Later in 1912, the building becomes the Liceo Ponceño School, the first all-girls school in Ponce. After many years of use as a commercial property, it was purchased by the Muñoz family in 2009 and masterfully restored to what today is known as the Ponce Plaza Hotel & Casino.
Our facilities include seven glorious suites that replicate the Colonial style of the historic building and sixty two standard rooms and Jr. Suites that offer guest a modern touch and embellish our boutique style hotel. Its amenities include: the Casino de la Plaza, Lola Eclectic Cuisine Restaurant, Melao Coffee Shop, Viva Bar, a swimming pool, banquet, conference rooms and a multi-story guest parking garage.
